All About Mrs. Moore

 All About Mrs. Moore

I teach for all the little benefits.--Anonymous

I have been married for fourteen happy years to the man of my dreams, Russell Moore.  We have two beautiful children together.  Briley is 7 and Jackson is 5.  We live next door to Curington so my children and I walk to school each day!  This is my twelfth year teaching.  My first two years I taught kindergarten at Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary.  The past nine I have been teaching first grade here at Curington Elementary.  My family is completed by Chester and Ruby the dogs, Annie the cat, Tallulah the bunny, and Rosemary, Henry, Ozzie and Harriet the chickens.

I embrace teaching as an opportunity to inspire and create life-long learners! It is extremely important to me that my students look forward to coming to school each day. I want the children to leave our classroom every day excited and wondering what the day will bring tomorrow. Above all, I want each student to feel that they can, and will, be successful in first grade.

Our classroom is a special place. It is a place where children should feel loved, valued, and free to take risks. We are on this first grade journey together and it is important that we are all kind, encouraging and supportive of one another. Each one of us has different strengths, needs, opinions and ideas.  And each one of us should be shown respect for those differences.

Lastly, let's be sure to have fun! We will all be learning, making discoveries, and experiencing new things together. No two days will ever be the same. We need to get messy, laugh a lot, be good friends, explore together and stop to smell the roses!
